Ignatian PeaceAction 2008

by: Office of Social Ministries
Twenty-one Jesuit communities and apostolates throughout the Missouri Province have confirmed participation in the first Ignatian PeaceAction, a US Assistancy effort coordinated through the Jesuit Commission for Social and International Ministries (JCSIM). During this year’s Easter season (leading up to Pentecost), Jesuit communities and works will undergo five weeks of prayer and action for peace, in solidarity with those who suffer from war and violence. We undertake this action in light of the social priorities approved by the U.S. Provincials, one of which addresses the problem of war and violence. We hope this effort will bind us together across provinces and sectors of ministry in a show of national solidarity.
The national “roll-call” of participating communities and ministries, as well as the PeaceAction supporting materials will be posted on the USA Jesuit Conference website. www.jesuit.org
Participation is free and adaptable to local context. For more information, contact Sean Agniel, social@jesuits-mis.org.
